LFVN

Penny stock promotions are once again back in focus early Monday. Several are coming off Friday’s that were a mixed bag. Some were slammed, while others moved with conviction to the upside.

On the broader market, the major indexes are retrenching ahead of several housing market data points due out this week. This will be a key test to see if the Dow can maintain its bullish run over the past few weeks. Traders are definitely keen on keeping Dow 13k and shooting for 14k.

Penny Stocks to Watch

Some of the big names to watch on the otc markets are Sunpeaks Ventures (OTC:SNPK), NeoMeda Technologies (OTC: NEOM) and LifeVantage Corp (OTC:LFVN)

SNPK Stock

SNPK is recovering somewhat today after the drubbing it took on Friday. After it wad announced a FINRA investigation into the trading was started the dump was on. Value of the stock evaporated nearly instantly. Today, the stock has recovered somewhat thanks to the PR machine. Currently the stock is up 11% on average volume. Safe to say traders are a bit skittish of the stock at this point. One to watch for sure, but this pump may be over.

NeoMedia Technologies

This was the penny stock du jour last week after a few paid NLs came out with it as a possible bounce play. and bounce it did. The stock ran over 400% over the course of 2 days. But like everything, what goes up inevitably comes down. Inevitable was today. NEOM is currently down 30% as traders look to lock in profits. Guess it pays to be the first man in. Those that piled in Thursday are liking the profits.

Volume on the stock is explosive, 4 times its 3-month average. Still no real news out of the company so either insiders know of something in the pipeline or this was just one of those random penny plays that seem to take on a life of their own.

LifeVantage Corp

LFVN is a strange one. No news out of the company, but the company continues to perform. Volume on the stock is heavy today, and the stock is up nearly 8%. Last week’s move to the downside may have been a consolidation period before the stock continues higher. Just no way of knowing. Interesting one to watch for the risk-tolerant traders out there.

The broader market is digesting more labor market numbers. After an upward revision from last week, claims dropped 14k. This marks the lowest level in 4 years. Even with the positive numbers, the market is lacking direction on which way to head. Each of the major indexes have notched multi-year highs so it is likely we could be due for a bit of a correction.

Also on the Nasdaq, AAPL stock is flirting with $600 per share. The stock is riding the positive news coming out of iPad 3 preorders and the expected launch of the iPhone 5.

In the world of penny stocks, the word continues to be the pumps. The question has the major one ran out of steam. The 4 penny stocks to watch today include Sunpeaks Ventures (OTC:SNPK), Lifevantage Corp. (OTC:LFVN), NeoMedia Technologies (OTC:NEOM) and Titan Iron Ore Corp (OTC:TFER).

The world of penny stocks has been dominated for nearly a week by SNPK. The PennyPic and AwesomePennyStocks pick, the stock has been on a tear of late. Now it seems to be looking for any direction. Will the pump continue? Or is this the bell that tolls for the dump? Right now the stock is down over 5% on heavy volume. The volume is becoming the issue. While undoubtedly heavy, it lacks that explosiveness you saw in the first 2 days of the pump.

Company news out of SNPK has the company focusing on their drug, Clotamin. It should be noted the feverish pitch of press releases has calmed, with the last being on March 12. So definitely different from most pumps that seem to crank out PRs like they do shares.

Lifevantage Corp. (OTC:LFVN) has been riding a gradual uptrend all month. Once around $2, it jumped as high as $4. Well that has come to a crashing halt the past couple of days. The stock is currently down over 7% on above average volume. News out of the company has been sparse but it was featured in OTC Growth Stock Newsletter on Thursday. Just a bit late to the party.

NeoMedia Technologies (OTC:NEOM) is bucking the trend by actually having a good day. Up over 15% on explosive volume, this could be a case of some insiders buying up stock in preparation of something bigger. No recent news for the past week, so there is no real catalyst to explain the move.

Titan Iron Ore Corp. (OTC:TFER) is the one that traders just can’t seem to quit. Up 5% on above average volume, it could be the pump has sorta returned to the stock. Yesterday’s negative action could have also spurred bounce play speculators into the stock. One to watch from the sidelines unless you are seriously risk tolerant. News from the company continues to revolve around their mining operations.

The overall market is rallying today as a positive jobs report sent the major indices up over a percent each. The Labor Department reported jobs numbers of 244,000, well above the analyst prediction of 185,000. In penny stocks, LEXG continues to be the most traded OTCBB stock with over 2,000 trades as of 12 p.m.

Lithium Exploration Group (OTCBB:LEXG) is up over 2% at $5.02 and was as high as $5.30 earlier today. LEXG has traded over 2 million shares already today and looks to have another big volume day. Expect a lot of intraday action on LEXG next week. No news on LEXG.

Jammin Java Corp. (OTCBB:JAMN) is up over a percent at $3.16 with an intraday high of $3.26. JAMN has trade nearly 3 million shares so far today, well above its usual daily volume. No clear move on JAMN right now, but it should be interesting to watch the rest of the day and next week. Here’s the latest 8-K for JAMN.

Lifeavantage Corporation (OTCBB:LFVN) is up almost 9% at $147 and was as high as $1.56 earlier today. LFVN is bouncing a little bit today after it had a big sell off the past few days from its high of around $2.00. No recent PRs for LFVN.

The big winner today is Universal Bioenergy Inc. (OTC:UBRG) which is up 22% at $0.1105. UBRG was as high as $0.118 earlier. Over 8.5 million shares of UBRG have been traded so far today, well above its daily average of around a million shares. The company announced a gas supply agreement with a major utility company yesterday.

Overall the market is rallying big time today after the positive jobs report was released. Penny stocks continue to do their normal thing with LEXG still leading the pack in terms of volume. Will traders still be interested in LEXG next week? Who knows but it should be interesting to watch.

Stocks continue to drop in late day trading after weak earnings from Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) and Clorox (NYSE:CLX). Pfizer has dropped 3% and Clorox is down 4%. Oil is has fallen some today because of a higher dollar and expectations that the U.S. oil supplies are growing. The Dow is down 38 points, the Nasdaq is down 31 points, and the S&P is down 8 points. Let’s take a look at what penny stocks traders have been buzzing about today.

Lifevantage Corporation (OTCBB:LFVN) is up again today over 30%. LFVN has been trending higher since Friday when it was trading around a $1. LFVN is currently trading at $1.90 with an intraday high of $1.97. No news on LFVN, could be a possible promotion or rumors.

Shares of Smart Holdings, Inc. (OTC:SMHS) are up 47% today and way off its intraday high of $0.0190. SMHS started the day at $0.0131 and then went quickly to $0.0190 before steadily falling the rest of the day and is currently trading at $0.0062. It looks like their was a promo for SMHS that caused the gap up and then the sell off. Definitely have to be careful when trading promo picks.

Thornburg Mortgage Inc. (OTC:THMRQ) is up 300% at $0.0280 after a Wall Street Journal article about the court-appointed trustee for THMRQ suing big banks such as Citigroup for $2.2 billion. THMRQ has traded as high as $0.0380 today with nearly 37 million shares traded so far. This is a huge volume day compared to the 367 thousand shares that it averages a day over the past 3 months.

Javalution Coffee Co. (OTC:JCOF) is up 11% today at $0.20 with an intraday high of $0.30. A PR from Monday in which the company announced a $2 million deal with Aldi, Inc. caused the stock to gap open today at $0.26. It then quickly moved to $0.30 before coming back down and settling at its current price of $0.20.

The late day oil plunge is hopefully a positive sign for consumers at large. Commodity prices have pummeled the US shopper in recent months and if the plunge continues it should drag down food prices. Definitely something to watch in the coming days.
